Convert hours to minutes: formula and table

Everything about converting hours to minutes: formula, complete table and everyday examples.

Published on January 3, 2026

Expressing a duration in hours but needing the result in minutes is very common: timesheets, hourly billing, cooking recipes, schedules… The conversion is immediate.

Understanding the conversion

One hour is exactly 60 minutes. To convert hours to minutes, multiply the number of hours by 60. If you have decimal hours (e.g. 1.5 h), the same rule applies: 1.5 × 60 = 90 minutes.

📐 Formula

Minutes = Hours × 60
